How it works

Start anywhere

Search for any article, or fall in somewhere random.

Every link opens a card

Follow a link and a new card lands on the pile, right on top of the last.

The stack is your trail

Jump back to any card, share the whole path, or export it as Markdown.

Race the daily game

Every day sets a new start and finish. Race from one Wikipedia article to the other in the fewest links, and keep your streak alive as the days add up.

Bank trivia as you read

Turn any article into quiz questions, pulled from its text by a language model, and save the ones you like to your trivia bank. Quiz yourself whenever you want. Questions can be wrong, so each one links back to its source article.

About

Wabbit Hole is a way to wander Wikipedia. Every link you follow opens a new card on top of the last one, and the stack of cards is the story of how you got here.

Article text comes from Wikipedia's public APIs and is available under CC BY-SA 4.0 (some content under GFDL). Articles are modified: reformatted for reading, with navigation boxes, hatnotes, and similar elements omitted. Each card links to the original article, whose history page lists its authors. Images are licensed individually by their authors.

Wandering needs no account and is not tracked. An account lets your trivia bank and saved trails follow you between visits; it stores only your saved questions, your saved trails, and quiz stats. This project is not endorsed by or affiliated with the Wikimedia Foundation.

Trivia questions are generated from article text by a language model and can be wrong. Each question links back to its source article.
